We’ve been waiting for this location to open and we were so excited to finally get to go! Absolutely nothing disappointed. The boiled dumplings were great, as was the sweet silk pork plate that we got. The staff was so hospitable too (,: We finished off with the tiramisu toast which was sooooo good and the perfect serving size. Love that you guys are so much closer to home!

I’ve been a loyal fan of Cooking Girl restaurants for years, and they’re hands down the best Sichuan spot in Houston! When I saw this new location open so close to me, I had to try it, and honestly, it might even be better than the original!! Everything came out piping hot, full of flavor, and arrived quickly. The portions are generous, the prices are great, and I really appreciate the upgraded details here. Their rice is served in a metal tin that keeps it perfectly hot, and the iced water comes in metal cups that stay cold the whole meal. The service was fantastic as well! My only wish is that they’d add the garlic pork belly and cucumber cold appetizer dish to the menu and offer a lunch special, but overall, this location exceeded my expectations!

Is this the revival of cooking Girl that we've been waiting for in 2025? I've been to most of the cooking Girl locations in town, and sadly hadn't been very impressed with the quality of food lately. This location however, is independently owned and fortunately did not disappoint. Dishes were tasty, and the prices aren't wallet breaking like many other heights restaurants as of lately. They also have full bar, and did I mention the prices are great? The Whatafish 酸菜鱼 was the highlight of the night for me. It was cooked to perfection, with flavorful broth that balances the acidity, savory, and the spice level of the peppercorn. The 小笼包 Xiao long bao was also done rather well, the skin was not overly thick and the broth inside was flavorful. Owner/manager was very kind to say hi and made sure that we had a great experience. All the staff were very friendly and attentive as well. I hope this restaurant will be successful and become the new anchor for sichuan destination in the heights.

Let me tell you… if you don’t get to eat with Yuji’s recommendations, you’re missing out!!! The food was phenomenal, the spicy boiled fish, the dry green beans, ALL of the soup dumplings… I could go on, or you could just go try them out yourself!

Cooking Girl has quickly become a new favorite in the neighborhood. The second you walk in, the place smells incredible. We had the salt and pepper shrimp (no shell), spicy boiled fish, and the soup dumplings. All flavorful, all worth coming back for. The space feels lively with healthy plants, pretty chopsticks, and warm service. Lydia took great care of us. She speaks Mandarin, which made ordering easy for my mom. This is their seventh location, and they’re about to open another one in Garden Oaks. They’ve clearly got a rhythm—and it shows.

When you think of good Chinese food this is the place to go to. They have authentic dishes and the "American Chinese" dishes which are done very well. Menu is super extensive and their drinks are fantastic I got the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. Both came out super fresh, quick, and plenty of protein which are super important to me for any kind of Chinese dish It wasn't too oily and the sauce on the orange chicken was delicious. It wasn't too bready either so the food didn't weigh me down after. Props to the chef You can also get boba tea here, I got the strawberry creamy with coconut boba it was delicious. I think they just opened this location so they had not much staff, but they did the best they could and were attentive. Definitely will be getting take out from here from now on over rice box

Where tastes means everything this restaurant hits it bang on target. The moment we came in the atmosphere was very friendly and service was great. We had the beef dumplings that were so delicious and flavorful. We ordered kung pao chicken and beef with broccoli that just melted in my mouth. Will definitely be coming back again
